Abstract:
What we do know: Persons with disabilities are vulnerable and much more likely to become crime victims than the nondisabled. We also know that victims with disabilities seldom report crimes. What we do not know: the exact incidence and nature of crimes against persons with disabilities, and the best outreach methods to improve the justice system’s response. Research is underway, and resources are available to help ameliorate this situation. Includes a summary of STV’s goals and values as a sidebar. Keywords: Safe Place grants; STV
