Abstract: 

Every year, June 15 is set aside as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day—a day of activities casting light on the dangers faced by older adults and appropriate actions to increase awareness. Those activities include education, training, volunteer work, and cultural or art events This year, as part of the events of National Crime Victims Rights Week (April 13–19), the National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) and National Adult Protective Services Association (NAPSA) held a 75-minute webcast seminar on the topic “What Can YOUR Community Do to Raise Awareness?” on April 15, 2008. Includes sidebar for agencies, Toolkit: Guidelines for Effective Interviews.
