Abstract: 

This article, which begins with an apposite and terrific quote from Bette Davis, deals with “deathbed marriages” for financial gain and other examples of exploitation of adults who are vulnerable due to age or dementia or a combination of factors, and discusses circumstances and procedures to enable annulment or voiding of such a marriage. It concludes, too, with a well-chosen, though in this case, anonymous, quote, ”Whoever says marriage is a 50 –50 proposition doesn’t know the half of it.”
