Abstract: 

Upates and Short Takes is our regular survey of current issues and items of interest to professionals serving elderly and disabled clients. This issue reports on federal funding levels for the Elder Justice Initiative and OAA obmbudsmen and elder rights activities; ACL funding for expansion of the Senior Medicare Patrol program, which helps beneficiaries access benefits; a report from the CFPB’s Office for Older Americans on common complaints about reverse mortgages; new client resources and fact sheets on resident mistreatment from the National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care; and final rules from the Administration for Community Living implementing the Older Americans Act provisions funding state ombudsmen programs.
