Abstract: 

Financial abuse of the elderly and disabled has become all to common with these populations being targeted for everything from the oldest confidence game to the latest technologically assisted scam. This article sheds light on some of the valuable progress in shutting down fraud operations and protecting the vulnerable, and includes a sidebar on the nature and prevalence of identity theft.
