Abstract: 

This study uses data from The Returning Home Illinois study to look at the needs of inmates with substance abuse histories versus the ability of the current system to supply those needs. The authors explain that there is a gap in services available versus services needed and that this gap is likely to get worse given the attitude of policymakers and the current political climate.
