Abstract:
In October 2003, the Cook County (Chicago) Criminal Court System implemented a treatment readiness intervention program for adult felony probationers. The program, Reducing Risk: Outreach and Pretreatment for Probationers Program (RROPP), was developed by Illinois Treatment Alternatives for Safe Communities (TASC) and funded by a five-year discretionary grant from the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). TASC was awarded funding for RROPP in October 2003 and began delivering services at that time. This article describes a process evaluation of RROPP during its first 24 months of operation (October 1, 2003, to September 30, 2005).Keywords: RROPP; best practices
