Abstract:
Even though CBA has been around for some time, it is still in its infancy within corrections. As a result, correctional program evaluations that contain CBAs are more the exception than the norm. Over time, however, both the private and public sectors have become accustomed to higher standards of accountability. And performance expectations also continue to increase, as many of us are called upon to do more with less. If we are, indeed, heading in a direction in which we will need to rely more and more on CBAs, this direction would be a positive development for several reasons. Keywords: MnDOC; statistical analysis; recidivism; post-release employment; reentry; work release; supervised release; randomized controlled trial; public safety benefits
