Abstract:

Given implementation barriers common for the delivery of substance abuse services to criminal justice offenders, programmatic attention should be focused on the use of evidence-based practices in the treatment and criminal justice systems. This study explores some of these issues through a multimodality survey of the beliefs and philosophies of counselors working with criminal justice clients, comparing the survey findings with direct observations of treatment sessions for these clients.
