Abstract:
This study suggests that personality is an important responsivity factor in correctional treatment. The study indicates that certain personality traits may act as barriers to treatment by resisting change, denying problems, or making treatment goals difficult to identify, while other types act as facilitators of treatment because they are open and receptive to treatment. In any case, these personality characteristics certainly represent responsivity factors. The major policy implication of the piece is that correctional treatments could be made more effective by taking into account the potential problems brought about by such personality traits. Keywords: Personality traits
