Abstract:

Although born of the 20th century and built on more ancient wisdom, the practice of Family Group Conference in New Zealand is nevertheless very modern. Connolly argues that it is at the cutting edge of family centered practice, and that we can move forward with confidence into the next decades with a practice that has well and truly stood the test of time. She suggests that we can embrace it as we confront the challenges of the new century. For in the end, practiced with integrity, the FGC will continue to support our families into the future. It will continue to provide hope and will continue to be a very modern practice.
