Abstract:
Garcia and Ritter argue that there is a gap between the resources needed for female inmates to successfully reenter into their communities and the services that they actually receive. The authors examine a program called the Serious and Violent Offender Reentry Initiative (SVORI) which is an alternative treatment program that aims to offer the services that female inmates need. Though the SVORI program provided mixed results when analyzed, the program sheds light on the magnitude of the needs of female inmates. Keywords: SVORI; female reentry
