Abstract:

To address the needs of prisoners returning home, to stem the tide of almost inevitable recidivism over the long term, and to address the myriad forms of disadvantage that have emerged in the wake of mass imprisonment, policy makers must reimagine what reentry is, what it does, how it is done and what theyhope to accomplish with it. This article poses the key questions that reentry researchers, policy makers, and program planners must ask themselves when they design, implement, and evaluate reentry interventions.
