Abstract:
Judge Lawrence K. Karlton recently issued yet another comprehensive Memorandum and Order in Coleman v. Brown , 2014 WL 1400964, (E. D. Cal. April 10, 2014). Of particular interest is Judge Karlton’s handling of issues surrounding seriously mentally ill (SMI) inmates and the use of force along with SMI inmates placed (or facing placement) in various forms of segregated housing.Keywords: Coleman v.
