Abstract:

In Gregg v. Hawaii, Dept. of Public Safety, 870 F.3d 883, the 9th Circuit ruled on the statute of limitations for filing suit seeking damages for coerced participation in a fraudulent “sex therapy” program at the Kauai Community Correctional Center. The court ruled that tolling began when plaintiff was professionally diagnosed with PTSD linked to her humiliating experience in the program, and not earlier, when she was released from the correctional center.
