Abstract:

The defendant in Ferreira v. Arpaio challenged the qualifications of Pablo Stewart, M.D., a well know psychiatrist, arguing that he should be excluded because his expertise does not extend to cell assignments. That is, while Dr. Stewart may testify as to diagnosis and treatment, who should be celled with whom is arguably outside the scope of his expertise. We examine why the motion was rejected by the court.
