Abstract:

Brandon Meyer was confined by the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) and housed at the Idaho State Correctional Institution (ISCI). Despite receiving an awful lot of clinical attention Meyer sued in federal court claiming deliberate indifference to his serious mental health needs. In Meyer v. Corizon Medical Services, 2017 WL 5473447 (D.Idaho), Judge Nye granted summary judgment for all defendants. The detailed summary of treatment provided here demonstrates that frequency of diagnosis and attention to at least some of the fundamentals of treatment are present, and the court’s decision to grant summary judgment is broadly supported.
