Abstract: 

This commentary explores the use and misuse of surveillance videos and facial recognition software by law enforcement, and examines the consequences for juveniles who are arrested, interrogated and prosecuted based on CCTV, Facebook data, Amazon’s “Rekognition” software, and other sources where the quality of the images used is inferior and the analysis is performed by officers with no or inadequate training in biometric analysis.
