Abstract:
Here are statutory provisions governing the use of GPS and other forms of electronic monitoring from all fifty 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Statutes typically allow for the use of or, in some cases require, EM as a condition of parole and probation, monitoring of sex offenders, enforcement of protective orders in cases of domestic Violence, and as an alternative to detention or bail bond in pretrial diversion programs.
