Abstract:
This article explores rationalizations for drinking and driving and offers counterarguments for the six most commonly endorsed rationalizations. Many intervention and prevention programs may incorporate some of these counterarguments; however, changes in rationalizations are often not measured in any systematic way. The Behaviors & Attitudes Drinking & Driving Scale could be used to target specific counterarguments based on the rationalizations endorsed by a given person and at the same time be used measure changes in these rationalizations.Keywords: Behavior & Attitudes Drinking & Driving Scale (BADDS);
