Abstract: 

A great deal of state legislation has been introduced early in 2010, with some of it even becoming law. We will also report on some federal legislation that was introduced in the latter part of 2009, and a model texting law that was released by the United States Department of Transportation. Additionally, some information will be provided on locating an industry study reporting on the correlation between state laws banning cellphone usage while driving and the number of reported crashes.
