Abstract:
Many drug courts use a diversionary model in which defendants who complete the requirements of the program can avoid formal prosecution and conviction. Some courts afford defendants the opportunity to expunge their drug related arrest completely, which may be an incentive to enter and complete treatment. This article discusses clients’ failure to act on this opportunity: “Expungement of Arrest Records in Drug Court: Do Clients Know What They’re Missing?” by David S. Festinger, David S. DeMatteo, Douglas B. Marlowe, and Patricia A. Lee 5(1) Drug Court Review 1 (2005);Keywords: Drug Court Review;
