Abstract:
On November 29, 2003, the Friends Exhibit opened at Siena College, Loudonville, NY. The original exhibit was set up as a forensic anthropologic study of the alcohol-related crash at Colgate University on November 10, 2000, which took the lives of four students. The premise of the exhibit was to provide a base from which the venues could add additional displays about alcohol related crashes in their areas. At Siena, this was the alcohol-related crash of Brian Crouch, a Siena College sophomore. Each college has its history of tragedy, whether it is a student falling from a dorm, an alcohol crash, or death due to alcohol poisoning. This article discusses the exhibit’s website, scheduling, logistics, and a part called “The Aftermath” where the effects of the crashes on the victims’ families are presented to students.Keywords: Lewis Henry Morgan Institute (LHMI); Siena College; Friends Exhibit; State University of New York Institute of Technology, Utica (SUNY-IT);
