Female-Responsive Practices and Strategies for DWI/DUI Offenders

Abstract:
According to 10-year-long trends reported by the 2011 Uniform Crime Reports, arrests for female DWI/DUI offenders have increased by 23.4%.Using research on female probationers, the Century Council has produced a guide that supports practitioners “in making informed decisions and responses to the increasing numbers of justice-involved women who have entered the system with convictions for DWI/DUI.”The Guide presents several assessment tools specifically developed for females and resources for supervising and intervening with female offenders.Keywords: Female-Responsive Strategy; Pathway Theories; Service Planning Instrument for Women (SPIn-WTM)
