Abstract: 

Pick-pocketing is one of the world’s oldest professions and each year thousands of travelers fall prey to this crime. While the majority of trips to foreign countries are incident free, the potential for becoming a target for pick- pocketing does exist. Keep in mind that this is a crime of opportunity. .This article discusses how pickpockets operate and ways to avoid being a victim of this crime. The author discusses different ploys and scams that are common among pick pockets.
