Abstract:
A UConn professor complained about nepotism when a dean’s wife was appointed Director of one of UConn’s business centers, a possible violation of state ethics rules. Shortly after going public with his concerns, the professor learned that his term as Director of the Innovation Accelerator would not be renewed. His subsequent lawsuit alleged, among other claims, retaliation on the basis of his exercise of First Amendment rights. Keywords: Weinstein v. Univ. of Connecticut (UConn); Cox v. Warwick Valley Cent.
