Abstract:

Though sexual violence has plagued campuses for years, sexual assaults among college students remain drastically underreported to both campus and law enforcement officials. One reason is that the reporting, investigation, and adjudication processes available to victims are complex and contain potential re-victimization situations. This article examines the reporting processes and the reasons victims do not report; if the reporting processes are improved to lessen the chance of revictimization, the barriers to reporting similarly will be lessened.
