Abstract: 

When the Trump administration announced in September 2017 that it would end Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals (DACA), a group of states represented by their respective attorneys general brought suit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, challenging the order. In this article, we examine the likely impact colleges and universities of the end of DACA, and analyze the arguments that the states are making in federal court supporting the continuation of DACA. The effect on students and on institutions of higher education figure strongly in the arguments the states are making.
