Abstract:
In August 2013, defendants filed a motion to terminate the 2008 Order arguing that health care had suffi ciently improved so that the County was in compliance. On November 27, 2013, counsel for the plaintiffs filed an extensive “brief” in opposition to the defendants motion to terminate. This article importantly draws on that brief and it must be emphasized that this is an advocacy presentation. If plaintiffs’ assertions, however, are even remotely accurate and demonstrable, the Maricopa County Jail (MCJ) is not, shall we say, quite in compliance. Keywords: Graves v.
