Abstract:
Molina suffered from type II diabetes mellitus, serious hypertension, and a life-threatening thyroid condition, and she regularly took several prescribed medications for these conditions. However, the Chicago Police Department had a policy that did not allow arrestees to take any medications while in custody, unless they were transferred to a hospital.Keywords: opiate intoxication, diabetic coma, Ortiz v.
