Abstract:
Deaf inmates may be entitled to particular accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), 42 U.S.C. §§ 12101 et seq., the Rehabilitation Act, 29 U.S.C. § 794, and state statutes. A failure to provide such accommodations was the allegation made by Ronald Chisolm, who was confined in the Mercer County (N.J.).Keywords: American Sign Language, TDD, interpreter, closed caption, lip-reading
