Abstract:
Bronchial asthma remains an important health problem all over the world. In the United States, about 15 million individuals have asthma and approximately 8.6 million of them are less than 18 years of age (Manino, 2002). Approximately 25% of asthmatic children from five to 17 years of age have activity limitations. In addition, there were about 466,000 asthmarelated hospitalizations in 1994 and about 1.9 million emergency room visits due to asthma in 1995 (Giachello, 1998). The important question to answer is why, despite significant advances in the physiopathology of bronchial asthma and the introduction of new medical therapies, asthma prevalence morbidity and mortality continue to rise in the United States? Keywords: Minorities, Respiratory Pollutants, Allergens, albuterol, bronchodilator, constriction, Oxygen, Beta2-Adrenergic Agonists, steriod, nebulizer, MDI
