Abstract:
The Missouri Department of Correction (DOC) is committed to providing high-quality health care to inmates in the Missouri correctional system. Since 1999, it has conducted through the Missouri Department of Corrections Health Services Quality Performance Project, annual external audits of the health care it has provided. The project has been implemented in annual phases, with current evidenced-based practices and benchmarks evaluated at the end of each. This article contains edited excerpts from Phase VIII of this longitudinal assessment of health-care performance and trends.Keywords: patient-centeredness, effectiveness, appropriateness, safety, efficiency, continuity, coordination, accessibility, equity, and timeliness
