Abstract: 

Contributing editor Margaret Moreland reviews study published in American Journal of Men’s Health, Exploring Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) Knowledge in Incarcerated Men” by Pamela Valera, Zaire S. Ali, Diamond Cunningham, Christopher McLaughlin, and Sebastian Aceved, which reported on The Cancer Risk in Incarcerated Men’s Study (CRIIMS), a multi-method research project that examined tobacco, cancer health, and psychosocial factors related to health behaviors among men incarcerated in three northeast U.S. state prisons. The participants’ responses regarding their knowledge of PrEP and PEP revealed that only 3.7% had heard about PrEP and only 3% had heard of PEP.
