Abstract: 

Our regular survey of important research findings reviews papers dealing with incarcerated women with hypertension and policies on shackling during child birth. Articles reviewed include “Public Health Nurses: Helping Incarcerated Women with Hypertension” by Mariana Arevalo, Arianna Larragoitiy, Alana Vargas, Pamela Kohlbry, and Carmen Warner-Robbins, published in American Jails; and “Where Does Your State Stand on Shackling of Pregnant Incarcerated Women?” by Ginette G. Ferszt, Michelle Palmer, and Christine McGrane, published in Nursing for Women’s Health.
