Abstract: 

A two-time detainee/plaintiff with a rare and difficult-to-diagnose disease alleges deliberate indifference to his medical needs. Understaffing and lack of access to medical care on the part of the Sacramento jail? Perhaps. Deliberate indifference when even the expert diagnoses conflict? Not likely.
