Abstract: 

Our regular survey of important research findings reviews papers dealing with the application of telemedicine in prison settings and issues in family planning services for female inmates. Reviewed are “Evaluating the Effectiveness, Efficiency and Safety of Telemedicine for Urological Care in the Male Prisoner Population” by Brenton G. Sherwood, Yu Han, Kenneth G. Nepple and Bradley A. Erickson, published in the Urology Practice Journal (2018); “Effectiveness of Telehealth on Correctional Facility Health Care: A Systematic Review Protocol” by Jaime Wheeler and Elizabeth Hinton, published in JBI Database of Systematic Reviews and Implementation Reports (2017); and “Family Planning Services for Incarcerated Women: Models for Filling an Unmet Need” by Carolyn Sufrin, Sara Baird, Jennifer Clarke and Elizabeth Feldman, published in International Journal of Prisoner Health (2017).
