Abstract:
Dr. Joe Goldenson, a highly-regarded physician and administrator, has written an excellent overview of the requisites for a functioning jail medical program. This is must reading for jail officials. In Part I, Dr. Goldenson provides models for the organization of health care services and touches on staffing, policy and procedure, space and equipment, pharmacy, records, CQI, and infection control.
