Abstract: 

The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 made substantial changes to how Medicaid operates for incarcerated adults. Two experts from the health care non-profit Community Oriented Correctional Health Services (COCHS) review these new policy developments and current opportunities that will affect justice-involved individuals’ access to health care and that offer correctional facilities opportunities for partnerships that can help improve individuals’ lives and communities’ safety.
