Abstract:
Our regular review of important court decisions includes two cases from the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals: one in which the federal appellate court ruled that no reasonable jury could find that any defendant showed deliberate indifference to an inmate’s chronic back and chest pains (Leiser v. Hoffmann, 2021 WL 3028147, 7th Cir. 2021); and the other, a ruling in favor of plaintiff that a trial judge erred by concluding that a concussion, accompanied by dizziness and confusion, was not an objectively serious medical condition (Sheppard v. Ludwig, 2021 WL 3161080, 7th Cir. 2021).Keywords: Chronic Pain; Defining ‘Serious Medical Condition’
