Abstract: 

Prompted by the popularity of the new Pokémon GO mobile app, in August 2016, New York banned sex offenders under community supervision from downloading, accessing, or otherwise engaging in any Internet gaming activities. The game requires users to travel around real-world locations—even near the homes of registered sex offenders—to capture Pokémon creatures on their phones. Additionally, users are able to purchase inexpensive “lures” to entice players to visit a PokéStop.
