Abstract:
Research, in particular the multi-site, Multimodal Treatment Study of ADHD (MTA Cooperative Group, 1999a), has produced evidence that combining stimulant medication and behavior therapy may be the optimal approach to care, especially when children with ADHD have comorbid conditions and the targets of intervention are academic and/or social impairments. Families with limited social and economic resources and those experiencing significant stress also appear to be particularly in need of a combined approach to services (MTA Cooperative Group, 1999b).Keywords:
