Abstract: 

A comprehensive round-up of federal and state legislation introduced or enacted during the first quarter of 2012. Notably, the new federal transportation bill (American Energy and Infrastructure Jobs Act of 2012) would increase funding for states that mandate ignition interlocks for convicted DUI/DWI offenders. Florida and New Jersey introduced bills to deal with aggressive driving while 22 states are considering or have passed bills adding or upgrading distracted driving offenses to their criminal statutes.
