Abstract: 

This article discusses the Virginia Tech Tragedy and the wrongful death suit brought against the University by the family of one of the student victims. The plaintiff’s case points are presented as are the laws behind them. It also gives some examples of what schools can do to avoid tragedies like the one at Virginia Tech from occurring in the future.
