Abstract:

California Attorney General Rob Bonta has joined a multistate coalition in filing an amicus brief supporting a lawsuit that challenges new restrictions imposed by the U.S. Department of Justice on Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) grants. The brief argues that the conditions are unlawful, constitutionally suspect, and place survivor-serving organizations in an impossible bind, threatening access to lifesaving domestic and sexual violence services while litigation proceeds.
