Abstract:
The Trump Administration’s new agenda has sent shockwaves through domestic violence organizations that provide services to victims. In early January 2025, the new Administration ordered a freeze of federal grants and loans—thereby sowing fear in the staff of the nation’s nonprofits and raising alarms about their ability to provide services to survivors. The president’s agenda included blocking federal funds to groups that support diversity and inclusion, recognize transgender people, or support undocumented immigrants. This brief article reviews some of the most critical agencies and programs working on domestic violence and gender-based violence that are now at risk. Keywords: Federal Agency Funding Freeze
