Abstract:

This issue of JCC provides two articles on interventions directed at women offenders: (1) Briggs and Taylor’s article from a Canadian perspective about what works with women offenders in the community, and (2) Robinson and colleagues’ research into the effects of Connecticut’s introduction of the Woman Offender Case Management Model, a good addition to the evidence base that is developing on various case management models. Completing the issue are ICCA’s “Policy Position on Responding to Offenders With Substance Use Disorders,” and the “Worth Reading” column by JCC ’s book editor Russ Immarigeon. Russ reviews a fine collection of recent publications covering unique approaches to picturing justice, advances in thinking about public policy, and a number of books on the subject of restorative justice.
