Abstract:

It is often easy to concur with the argument that the mix of IT and offenders is not a good one. This may seem an unusual comment coming from the chief executive of a company that specializes in the innovative use of IT to help “hard to reach learners” through management information systems, e-learning materials, and tools to help those making the transition between custody and community. But it is only through extensive experience in this area that we know precisely the troubles most staff and offenders face when it comes to IT. I would therefore suggest that, when done correctly, the possible applications for IT are wider than most people appreciate.
