Abstract:
When assisting offenders in their reentry efforts, it is important to be aware of the impact that crime control policies have in shaping offenders’ daily interactions and routines. For example, the necessary reporting requirements and attendance at programs connected to the offenders’ release conditions may make it difficult to secure and maintain employment. In fact, in some cases, these requirements make it difficult to complete some of the reintegrative tasks prior to sentence expiry. These difficulties make it necessary to find assistance beyond the supervision and support offered by criminal-justice-focused agencies. Such assistance might be offered by a transition support center. Keywords: Urban Transition Support Centers
