Abstract: 

The number of staffed foundations and total foundation employees increased in 2002, according to the latest report published by The Foundation Center. The report, Foundation Staffing, surveyed 20,716 foundations with at least $1 million in assets, and grants of $100,000 or more. Of the group surveyed, 3,360 (16.22%) reported a total of 17,821 paid staff. Key findings are summarized.
